What Is Your Average $ Sale?

What is it? Do you know your Average $ Sale? Why should you know your Average $ Sale?

Business is like a great sports game. To have the most fun and the ability to improve in your sport you need to keep scores. You also need to keep scores in many areas of your business.

One such area is the Average $ Sale. The equation for working out your average $ sale is:

Average $ Sale = Revenue divided by Number of Customers.

Now some of your customers may spend $1000’s and others only $10. What you need to look at is your average. Once you know the score you can set a goal and put in place strategies to achieve that goal.

The obvious advantage of increasing the Average $ Sale is improved net profit. While this is excitement enough, there also are benefits to many other areas of your business. Two such benefits are the customer being looked after better leading to repeat business and another exciting benefit is that you do not have to spend money attracting new customers through the doors; this customer is already a customer.

Some great strategies for increasing your Average $ Sale:

1) MEASURE IT!! Know your Average $ Sale
2) Put your prices up 10%. Just do it!!
3) Train your team in sales. Your entire team is part of your service.
4) Listen to your customers. Ask them questions.
5) Improve your service.
6) Add on sales - “Would you like fries with that?

Talk to me now about the many strategies to increase your Average $ Sale. There are many more than the ones I’ve shared with you today.

ARE YOU IN BUSINESS TO MAKE MONEY? If you answered no, then I’ll ask the question again. ARE YOU IN BUSINESS TO MAKE MONEY?

THEN KNOW YOUR NUMBERS. It’s vital to your business’ success.

Remember, you are not in business to sell products and services; you are solution providers, so let your customers buy. Give your TEAM the tools to do their job. The customer will thank the business and the business will look after the owner.

What Makes People Tick?

Far too many people go into business as managers. A manager will manage resources; a leader will lead the team to victory. If you truly want to be a leader, you have to know what makes people tick; you’ve got to get into both their heads and their hearts.

That’s what using the DISC Personal Profile will do for you.

This super powerful tool will give you an insight into yourself, your customers and your people. The DISC Personal Profile is focused on the behavior and working style of each person. It’s not a personality test: the DISC Personal Profile’s true use is to give you an insight into the jobs people will be best suited to and the ways they’ll interact with each other. It will also give you the sales and buying decision-making methods of the different customers you sell to each and every day.

Learn all you can about your team, lead them, and most importantly, lead yourself. Whether you want to understand yourself, to lead a team, or to be able to make more sales, the DISC Personal Profile will put you miles ahead of your competition.

A Vital South Florida Business Survival Secret

The basic rule for systemizing is ‘Systemize the routine, humanize the exception’. Effective systems can save you and your Dade or Broward team both time and money. A system means that things are done consistently, regardless of the team member. Anything that cannot be systemized needs to be run by people. Always look at putting a system in place rather than employing more people.

The first step in systemizing your business is to record the steps required to accomplish all the important tasks of the business. The next step is automation.

Here’s what happens when an order comes in:

1. Customer calls and places and order.
2. The Owner jots down the order on a piece of paper.
3. The Owner writes down what materials would be required to do the job (he/she may forget that he needs a certain material).
4. He/she then proceeds to check the shelves to see if he/she needs to reorder any of the material.

With an automated system this is what takes place – and it happens ALL from a few keystrokes:

1. The Owner would have called up the Customer’s Name on the computer (the computer would have all the important information on the customer such as whether they have any outstanding invoices and what they ordered last time)
2. She would enter the order and the computer would tell her whether the materials needed to make the product are in stock
3. The computer would print out a list of materials to order, schedule the time on the machine required to make the product, state when the product will be ready to ship to the customer, and produce an invoice and shipping label.

Now you might be thinking that automating functions of your business would be very complicated and expensive. Not true. The price of computer equipment keeps falling and is now affordable to all businesses. We have coached many businesses to organize their steps and procedures and then automate their business functions. Business owners are amazed at how the increase in efficiency and sales, due to the consistent quality of the products or service they produce, can pay for the software in a very short period of time.

Whether you are a manager or the owner of a business, you can really affect the bottom line through systemizing processes. Then by automating the processes, you know that your business will be efficient in offering its products or services. Not only will you sleep better knowing that you do not have to be there to keep the company moving smoothly, but also that the company will be more profitable. You know a computer should not be used as a glorified typewriter when it can do so much more to help your business.

Systemizing your business can also be your competitive advantage. Customers will benefit from your business running more efficiently and producing consistent high quality products or services regardless if the owner is around. Customers that shop at your competition and who are tired of inconsistent quality will soon buy from you. All you need to do then is to COMMUNICATE to your customers and prospects about your NEW Business IMPROVEMENT that will help to serve them better.

Remember…

• Systems run your business …
• People run your systems …
• You lead your people …
